Why Do Best-Selling Writers Use a 40 year-old Word Processor?

George R R Martin wrote “Game Of Thrones” in WordStar 4, a word processor dating from the 1980s. Robert J Sawyer wrote “FlashForward” and all his other science fiction novels using WordStar 7, which runs under the DOS operating system. Why do successful, professional authors continue to use old, outdated word processors?

In this video, I give a few thoughts on the attraction of WordStar, WordPerfect and other old word processing programs. And I also give a brief history of PC word processors before Windows.
